These are base64-encoded emails and they tend to be frowned upon by the
community.

I see you're using mutt, try fiddling around with the send_charset and
allow_8bit settings.  Since the emails contain no non-ascii characters,
you can probably get away with using us-ascii instead of utf-8, which is
what you're using now.

Experiment with sending mails to yourself and inspecting their raw
content.  Hit 'e' in mutt or use 'View original source' in Gmail.

I can't speak for the content of the patches.
